Adding YouTube Videos To Your clever little site
We’ve just gone ahead and added a new feature to the clever little sites – using this new feature you can now put videos from YouTube directly onto your site’s pages.
Here we’ve created a brief, step-by-step guide to demonstrate how you do it – it’s pretty straightforward though!
Look up the YouTube video you want to add to your page. Use YouTube’s tools to show their “embed code”, and copy it to your clipboard by right-clicking your mouse on it and choosing “copy”.
Log into your clever little site and choose the page you want to put the video on. On the toolbar, click the Insert Youtube Video Code button. It’s on the left hand side of the toolbar, and looks like the Youtube logo. On this screenshot it’s a little film strip, but we’ve changed that to make it easier to spot.
Now it looks like this:
When the box comes up, right click in the top box and choose “Paste” from the popup menu to paste the YouTube code from your clipboard into it.
If you can’t already see one, click on the Preview box below to see a preview of the video. If everything’s okay, you should see your chosen video appear. Click the Insert button when you’re happy with what you see.
On your page, you will see a pale yellow box appear. This is where the video will appear when you’ve saved the page. When you’re editing, videos will show up as these pale boxes to make things a little clearer. You can also use the handles that appear around the edges of the box to resize the video – just like you can with images.
What do you think? Pretty neat huh?
